Is Shopify checkout really connected to Activ8 Commerce?

Yes. Your Shopify store is fully integrated with Activ8 Commerce. Customers check out on Shopify, and their orders flow into Activ8, where your team manages fulfillment, compliance, clubs, and customer records. Activ8 also keeps your products, inventory, and customers in sync with Shopify in real time, so nothing has to be entered twice.

How do shipping and compliance work for Shopify orders?

The same way they work today. Shopify orders flow into Activ8 Commerce, which connects to compliance and shipping partners including ShipCompliant, ShipEngine, UPS, FedEx, and GLS. Your team keeps using the fulfillment workflow it already knows.

I’m not using Activ8 Commerce yet. Can I still work with you?

Absolutely. We set up Activ8 Commerce as your system of record for POS, clubs, inventory, shipping, and compliance, build or connect your Shopify store, and help you move your products, customers, and club members over from your current system. Can I keep my current website and just add Shopify?

Yes. With a Shopify eCommerce Install, your current website stays in place and we set up a Shopify store on a shop subdomain, styled to match your site and connected to Activ8 Commerce. We add shop links to your existing menus so customers move between the two seamlessly.

Does Activ8 Commerce replace Shopify?

No. Activ8 complements Shopify. Shopify provides the storefront, checkout, and payment options, while Activ8 handles winery-specific operations like POS, wine clubs, allocations, inventory, compliance, and shipping.

Will my wine club still work?

Yes. Your clubs stay managed in Activ8 Commerce, including scheduled processing, swaps, allocations, and pickups. Shopify becomes the storefront, and club signups can be built right into your new site.

What happens to my search rankings when we move to Shopify?

With a redesign or migration, we map your old page URLs to the new ones with 301 redirects and carry over page titles and meta descriptions. This helps preserve the rankings and links you have built. Some short-term movement in search results after a launch is normal.

Should I sign up for Shopify before Activ8 sets up my store?

No. Activ8 needs to create your Shopify store and install our eCommerce integration before transferring ownership to you. Please wait for our guidance before creating a store or starting a Shopify subscription. We’ll help you choose the plan that fits your needs.

Is the Shopify subscription a separate cost?

Yes. Shopify bills you directly for your subscription, which is separate from Activ8’s design and integration fees.

How long does a Shopify project take?

It depends on the option you choose and the size of your site. An eCommerce install is typically the quickest, while full redesigns and migrations take longer. We will give you a timeline along with your quote.

Will I be able to update the site myself?

Yes. Shopify’s visual editor makes it easy to update pages, banners, and products, and every project includes training for your team.

Do you still build WordPress websites?
